As an independent advisor, I recommended to the Small Enterprise Development Agency eight new high impact support programs to encourage small and medium enterprise development in South Africa. I was also asked to recommended wide-ranging operational overhauls. _________________________________________________________________
As an independent advisor for the Asian Development Bank, I advised the Government of Armenia on methods to improve support for women entrepreneurs. A $20,000,000 million program loan to the Government was conditioned, in part, on my recommendations. _________________________________________________________________

As an independent advisor for BearingPoint, I evaluated the credit risk model used by USAID’s Development Credit Authority to improve their lending effectiveness to various financial institutions and national governments.

As an independent advisor for Development Alternatives, I evaluated the strategic impact of USAID’s development assistance to develop Zimbabwe’s private sector. My report was shared with regional offices and Washington to inform future policy decisions, among which, to refocus on economic relief efforts in Zimbabwe, instead of economic development support.

As an independent advisor for FinMark Trust, I made strategic recommendations on government programs promoting small and medium enterprise development in South Africa. My research is published and widely cited in books and economic journals on South Africa private sector development. _________________________________________________________________
  I was asked to be a keynote speaker at a university technology commercialization conference in St Petersburg Russia, an event sponsored by American Councils and the US Russia Foundation. _________________________________________________________________
I was invited to participate on a special advisory panel created by FinMark Trust to help develop a new ‘Business Sophistication Measure’ helping improve the allocation of credit to micro, small and medium size companies. The measure became part of their famous FinScope Small Business Study.
